This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your data when you use our Karting Log application, available on Android, iOS and the web. 1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you first open Karting Log, the app creates an anonymous account for you (“guest mode”) so your data can be stored and backed up. This account has a random user ID and contains no personal information.

If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from that provider:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile picture (if your account has one)

We never receive or store your Google or Apple password.

Data You Enter

Karting Log stores the information you enter in the app:

  • Drivers: name, and optionally a nickname and date of birth
  • Venues, tracks and championships: names, locations, track lengths, championship dates and notes
  • Sessions: date, session type, driver, track, championship, lap times, number of laps, positions and notes
  • Pictures you add to drivers, venues and championships

Information About Other People

You may record data about other drivers, such as their names, lap times and pictures. You are responsible for having their permission to do so. If a driver is a minor, their parent or legal guardian should be the one recording their data or should authorize it.

Photos for Result Reading

When you use the “read results from a photo” feature, the picture of the timing screen or timing sheet is sent to Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence service, through Firebase, to read the drivers and lap times. Only the results you review and save are stored. We do not keep the photo.

Technical Information

To protect our services from abuse, the app uses Firebase App Check, which relies on platform integrity services from Google and Apple to verify that requests come from the genuine app.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not collect your location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Store your data and keep it backed up and synced across your devices
  • Identify you when you sign in
  • Show your name and profile picture in the app
  • Read results from photos when you ask the app to
  • Provide support, fix problems and improve the app
  • Count records in aggregate (for example, the total number of sessions logged) to understand how the app is used

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored on your device and in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore for your records and Cloud Storage for your pictures). This includes guest-mode data.
  • Firebase servers may be located outside your country.
  • Access is restricted so that each user can only read and write their own data.
  • A limited number of authorized Lilas Solutions administrators have read-only access to stored data, used only for support, maintenance and aggregate statistics.
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Google Cloud.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal data with third parties, except with the service providers that make the app work:

  • Google Firebase for authentication, data storage and app integrity checks
  • Google Gemini, through Firebase, to read results from photos
  • Google or Apple, when you choose to sign in with them

There is no social media integration and your data is not visible to other users.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You can:

  • View, edit and delete your records in the app at any time
  • Sign out, which returns the app to guest mode and keeps your data on your device
  • Request a copy of your data or the deletion of your account by following the instructions on our account deletion page

We keep your data while your account exists, or as required by law.

6. App Availability and Pricing

Karting Log is available on Android, iOS and the web. It is currently free and has no ads. In the future, we may offer subscription features through in-app purchases in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

7. Children’s Privacy

Karting Log is intended for users aged 13 and older. Younger children may use it only through a parent or legal guardian, who manages the account. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data without your consent, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are significant, we will notify you through the app. Please review this page periodically.
